We go to St Ives on holiday nearly every year, and it's always a struggle when deciding where to eat! If you’re planning a trip there and haven’t been before, here are some delicious lunch spots that you won't want to miss…

Harbour Fish & Chips

This is the place to go for delicious fish and chips with the most amazing view! As well as the usual cod and haddock, you can also order battered hake, lemon sole, sea bass and mackerel fillets! And for my partner, who is gluten intolerant, all fish can be ordered grilled (rather than battered) as a gluten free option.

On a nice sunny day, we love to get takeaway from here to take to the beach, but beware of the seagulls!

The Searoom

The Searoom by St Ives Liquor Co is also located on the harbour front, and is a great spot for lunch if you don’t have to drive anywhere afterwards so you can enjoy their amazing drinks menu 🍹

They offer a tapas style menu, which showcases some amazing Cornish produce, with Cornish mackerel pate, locally caught mussels, and some delicious Cornish cheeses.

Make sure you try their amazing gins when you visit, we love the St Ives gin and usually buy a bottle to bring back home. This small batch gin is made using 13 botanicals that are all harvested from the Cornish coastline, and it comes in a beautiful bottle too!

Porthminster Beach Cafe

This is without doubt one of the best restaurants in St Ives, and is a great lunch and dinner spot. This is one of the most expensive options on this list, but it is a must visit, and with amazing quality food it is well worth the money.

Unsurprisingly they always have some delicious fish choices on their menu, with most of the fish coming from St Ives bay or other local harbours in Cornwall. They use local suppliers where possible, and even have a coastal kitchen garden!

It does get very busy here so make sure you book in advance!

Yellow Canary

This cafe has been located in the heart of St Ives since 1972! This is always a popular spot and after your first visit you’ll soon realise why! They serve traditional Cornish cream teas, homemade cakes and sandwiches, and award-winning Cornish Pasties.

The Allotment Deli

If you’re planning a beach picnic, make sure you head to The Allotment Deli. This deli has delicious homemade sandwiches, pastries, salads, antipasti, and so much more! It's impossible to leave here without a bag full of delicious food because everything is so tempting! They have lots of options too for different dietary requirements, with gluten free and vegan options available.
