September Product Picks

Share

September is National Organic Month so that’s the theme of this month’s picks… some delicious organic food and drink.

It seems like everything has a national day or month, I mean there’s even an international carrot day! (It’s 4th April in case you were wondering). But for September it's national organic month, so I’ve rounded up some of my favourite organic brands and products to share with you.

I’m not an avid organic shopper, but I do always buy organic for certain products like eggs and milk. And occasionally for fruit and veg, but the price premium can be a bit prohibiting at times.

It is something I’m interested in learning more about, and there’s some good information here about national organic month.

If you’re looking to add more organic foods into your diet, I think Waitrose has the best everyday range. There’s a huge range of products in their Duchy range, check it out here.

Here are this month’s picks…

Rhythm 108 Peanut Butter Cookie

R108 Cookie

Rhythm 108’s cookies are delicious, I love the hazelnut one, and I recently tried their peanut butter flavour too. This chocolate cookie is filled with peanut butter, and topped with roasted peanuts and chocolate chips.

As well as being organic, this is also vegan, gluten free, palm oil free, and comes in plastic free packaging!

Borough Broth Tonkotsu

Borough Broth have made it super easy for you to make a delicious ramen at home with this Tonkotsu. Simply add your noodles and toppings, its that simple!

All Borough Broth’s products are made using bones sourced from high welfare organic farms, and they explain on their website why being organic is important to them…

"For us, organic is a way of life. It helps protect wildlife, reduce pesticides & additives, and secure a future for our food."

Waitrose Duchy Maple Syrup

This maple syrup is made using sap from trees that are grown without any artificial chemicals or fertilisers. And did you know that it takes 40 litres of sap to make just 1 litre of pure maple syrup!

A proportion of sales from the Duchy range are donated to The Prince of Wales’s charitable fund.

Highgrove Chocolate & Orange shortbread

Fortnum & Mason have an organic range under the ‘Highgrove’ brand name.

My favourite product is their chocolate & orange shortbread* which is handmade at a small bakery in Edinburgh. The organic dark chocolate chips and orange oil are of course a winning combination!

Manilife Organic Crunchy Peanut Butter

Manilife have recently launched an organic peanut butter. There are of course smooth or crunchy available - always crunchy for me!

They've sourced organic high oleic peanuts directly from one of the oldest farming families in Argentina, and they are the only peanut butter brand in the world to have access to these peanuts. This is a really special product, and a must try for peanut butter fans.

Belvoir Elderflower & Rose Cordial

Belvoir 2

Belvoir have the largest organic elderflower plantation in the UK, and they are committed to sustainable farming practices.

This cordial is made using hand-picked elderflowers and added rose petal extract. Belvoir suggest (as well as just simply drinking this as a cordial) to try adding to prosecco, but I think it would be great to use in making a cocktail / mocktail too!

Coombe Farm Butcher’s Box

Combe

This butcher’s box is a great way to try some different cuts from Coombe Farm. It includes… sausages, burgers, Barnsley chops, mince, pave steaks and chicken thighs. They describe this box as ‘the best kept secrets of our nose-to-tail butchery approach’.

Daylesford Farmshop Advent Calendar

Dford advent

It may only be September, but I couldn’t have a round up of some of my favourite organic products without including something from Daylesford. And I was so excited to see that they’ve launched an incredible new advent calendar this year.

This is a replica of their flagship farmshop in the Cotswolds, and contains a selection of their organic food and drink including chocolates, biscuits, chutney, tea and more. And there’s also a selection of home items like a candle and a cheese knife. I’m sure there’ll be lots more exciting advent calendar’s launching this year, but it's going to be hard to top this!
