Restaurant Review: House of Fu, Leeds
House of Fu, is without doubt, the coolest new restaurant in Leeds.
The restaurant has a pastel decor contrasting against bright neon signage on the walls, making it very ‘instagrammable’.
I was extremely jealous when my boyfriend was invited down to the opening night, and after hearing his amazing review I booked for us to go together not long after!
There’s a good amount of choice on the House of Fu menu, with plenty to choose from, and vegan / gluten free options were clearly labelled.

Any or all of the ice cream sandwiches
I love dumplings so getting some gyoza to start was an easy decision for me. There is a choice of either pork gyoza or vegan shiitake & kale gyoza, and also a special that changes each week.
The gyoza of the week when we went was chicken kiev, which did sound delicious, but I went for the pork which had a nice crispy bottom and came with a tasty dipping sauce.
For mains I went for the California Super Bowl, which was made with Nori cured Salmon, avocado, cucumber, tomato, edamame, Fu Pickles, shiso dressing and seasoned rice. All the ingredients tasted so fresh, and the pickles were a highlight!
Nick went for the spicy tofu rice bowl, the same main he had on his first visit because it was so good the first time he wanted to have it again. This vegan main came with planted-based spiced mince, tofu, roast aubergine, crunchy chilli oil and steamed rice.
For dessert we wanted to try the ice cream sandwiches but these were both sold out. They have a white chocolate & matcha option, or a vegan miso caramel ice cream sandwich. I was disappointed not to try these, but I’m sure we’ll be back again soon.
And if you go, make sure you try out their frozen cocktails! The frozen margarita was 10/10.
