Brand Spotlight: The London Honey Co

If you're into pure and natural British honey, you need to know about The London Honey Co.

The London Honey Co are the producers of some of the best honey in the UK.

They have beehives all over the country, in places like Oxfordshire and Dorset, but their story first began on rooftops of London.

Inspired by a phenomenon known as "urban beekeeping", the founder Steve Benbow, brought a few hives up to the roof of his Bermondsey apartment, determined to bring a taste of the countryside to the city.

Soon, they moved some hives into nature - to heather moors in Shropshire and lavender fields in Kent.

By giving the bees access to different types of flowers and foliage, they were rewarded with a variety of amazing tasting honeys.

And this is exactly what The London Honey Co is about: the magic of location. Whether it's the hedgerows of Harrow or the shrubs of Shropshire, each honey is a celebration of where the hives are placed.

And they really do have a very lovely variety of honeys.

Their range includes single origin, pure raw honey, raw honeycomb, handmade 100% beeswax candles and 100% British mead.

They champion sustainable agriculture.

PURE HONEY WITH GINGER & TURMERIC

This jar infuses pure British Spring honey with two killer spices: ginger and turmeric.

On toast, it tastes a bit like a zingy, honey version of marmalade, and a dollop of this in a cup of hot water instantly gives you a lovely, warming drink.

ORGANIC HONEY, FROM THE ZAMBIAN FOREST JAR

The deep treacle colour of this honey promises good things. Very good things.

It's actually one of the few LHC products that is not from the UK, as this jar of Organic Honey comes from the forests of Zambia - supporting sustainable beekeeping livelihoods.
